Every donation makes a small piece of clinical research possible that otherwise would not happen.
We are a small institute attached to a hospital. Our studies grow out of questions that arise on the wards — and questions like these rarely make it into the large funding programmes. Public and private grants carry our ongoing projects; the beginning of an idea usually has no funding at all.
That is exactly where donations work: they fund the first steps that make a study eligible for funding in the first place, and they keep going the work that sits between two projects. Every amount helps — and stays entirely within our research.

What your donation supports
We use donations where they achieve the most — in three areas that are hard to cover through third-party grants.
Early-career researchers
Doctoral and master’s projects at the institute: supervision, a desk, and the time that scientific work requires.
Studies
Seed funding for questions arising in the clinic that have no third-party funding yet — pilot work, feasibility, study coordination.
Data management
Maintaining and analysing our registries and cohorts: carefully documented data is the basis of every reliable finding.
